คำปฏิเสธในภาษาอังกฤษ 2

ตอนที่แล้วแนะนำเรื่อง no ตอนนี้มารู้จักกับ not กันบ้าง

เมื่อ not เป็น adv. มีวิธีใช้ดังนี้

1. ใช้ตามหลัง v. ช่วย (Auxiliary Verb) ในกรณีนี้สามารถใช้ not ในรูปย่อได้นะ คือ n’t ไง

Wouldn’t you like to go shool?

It’s a beautiful day ,isn’t it?

2. ใช้ not นำหน้า to infinitive

He want me not to be sleep late.

I was sorry not to have seen her.

3. ใช้วางหลัง verb เพื่อสื่อความเชื่อหรือความคาดหวัง เช่น believe , expect ,hope,trust

A: Will it rain?

B: I hope not.

A: Does he know?

B: I believe not.

4. หรือจะใช้ or not มาเติมท้ายประโยคเพื่อแสดงการเลือกในความหมายเชิง “หรือไม่”

Is he smart or not?

I don’t know if / whether fail the examination.

5. ใช้ในการตอบปฏิเสธ โดยการตัดบางส่วนของคำถามมาตอบ

Are you hungry?

Not for me,thank you.

6. ใช้ not นำหน้าคำบอกจำนวนสมาชิกกลุ่ม

Not everybody agree with you.

7. ใช้ not เพื่อแสดงความหมายตรงกันข้ามกับคำที่จะกล่าวตามหลังมัน

We plan to meet again in the not to distant future.

เราวางแผนที่จะพบกันอีกครั้งในเวลาอันใกล้

8. ที่มักจะเจอบ่อยคือ เอามาใช้ในสำนวน not at all เพื่อใช้ในการตอบรับคำขอบคุณ

A: That’s very kind of you.

B: Not at all.

9.ใช้ในตัวเชื่อม not only ...but also ในความหมาย ไม่เพียงแต่ ...แต่ยัง

I not only act but also write my own plays.

ดิฉันไม่เพียงแต่แสดงแต่ยังเขียนบทเองอีกด้วย

10. ใช้ not นำหน้า adj. หรือ adv.

not so bad

not happy

11. ใช้ not นำหน้า a,an,any,many,enough,all,every

Not a student is in the room. ( No students)

Not any student finish their homework. ( No students)

Not much time is left. (No time)

Not enough food is here today. (No food)

12. ต้องใช้ not หลัง verb พวกนี้เลย

think  suppose  believe  expect  fear  fancy  trust  hope  seem  appear 

to be afraid 

A: Can you come to see me tomorrow?

B: I’m afraid not.

เป็นการลดรูปประโยคที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย that แบบปฏิเสธนั่นเอง

ประโยคเต็มๆของมันคือ I’m afraid that I can not come.

โห ได้ไปเพียบเลยวันนี้ ลองเอาไปใช้ดูนะคะ

และท่องไว้เลยว่า ภาษาอังกฤษง่าย...นิดเดียว

แต่ยาก...เยอะ  ซะงั้น
