English is an international language.

More than 3 billion people can speak English. It is the language of international business,technology,medicine and communication between goverments around the world.

Today, more and more people in ASEAN and around the world want to learn English.

Why learn English? It is important for us to learn and know the Thai language first because we are Thai people.This is our identity.

However,when we study English also,we can communicate and reach out to more than 3 billion people in many countries around the world. Through English we can learn from them and improve our lives,our people and our country.

I want to share a few tips on how to learn English.

First,you must have a goal. You must know why you want to learn English.

Second,you must have personal discipline. Set some time every day or every week to do English work.

Third,buy good English teaching books. Find English-speaking friends. Listen to English songs and watch English TV programs and news. Also,have a good English dictionary.

Fourth,you must plan your learning. Without planning,you will be like a ship without a rudder. You will not reach your destination.

At times,learning will not be interesting or fun anymore. You will need determination. This is the time when your goal for learning English will push you to go on learning.

Without personal discipline and determination,you will soon lose interest. Your goal to learn English will be lost.

Finally,for those who achieve learning English,there is a big world outside of Thailand.

Recently,we all watched on TV our King's 60th year celebration. Many royalties from so many countries came to Thailand. What language did they all speak to each other? English!

In ending,I want to leave with you this idiom : "No one can be clever without learning."
